Path to Enrollment
APPLY FOR ADMISSION
You must complete an online application for admission at cccapply.org. First-time students will be issued an ECC student ID number, username and temporary password within 24-48 business hours after completion.
FINANCIAL AID (recommended)
Need help paying for college? Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) at dream.csac.ca.gov. The school code for ECC is 001197.
ORIENTATION
Familiarize yourself with ECC and its resources by completing online orientation through MyECC. In-person orientations are also offered throughout the year; check with the Warrior Welcome Center for dates.
Orientations may be arranged for students who participate in support programs, such as Honors Transfer Program, First Year Experience, EOPS/CARE, Financial Aid, students with a disability, athletes, and international students.
PLACEMENT AND ASSESSMENT
Complete the English and Mathematics placement survey in MyECC to receive proper placement in transfer-level English and Mathematics courses. In most cases, as per AB 705, students are placed based on their high school coursework and grade point average. Students with unique assessment circumstances or unique coursework may contact the Humanities Division or Mathematical Sciences Division to discuss placement.
If English is not your first language, you may need to begin with the English as a Second Language (ESL) placement process. All ESL students have a right to access credit ESL, though noncredit ESL is also an option. You can learn more details about ESL placement, as per Title 5 §55522.5 (f), by visiting the ESL website at: https://www.elcamino.edu/academics/divisions/humanities/esl/.
EDUCATIONAL PLANNING
Meet with a counselor and identify what classes you need to complete to reach your academic goals. To schedule a counseling appointment, go to the Counseling webpage (http://www.elcamino.edu/student/studentservices/counseling/) and log in with your MyECC username and password.
REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Register for classes using MyECC on or after your assigned appointment time. Use Schedule Builder to search for sections and add them to your shopping cart.
