Certificate of Achievement

A Certificate of Achievement will be granted upon completion of all program requirements. At least 15 units of the certificate requirements must be completed at El Camino College.

Required Courses:

• JOUR 1 - News Writing and Reporting 3 units
• JOUR 8 - Investigative Reporting, Editing, and Entrepreneurship 3 units

•  

• JOUR 6 - Basic Photojournalism 3 units

• or

• PHOT 106 - Basic Photojournalism 3 units

•  

• JOUR 9abcd - Nonfiction Storytelling for Magazines and New Media 3 units *
• JOUR 11abcd - News Media Production and Social Media Storytelling 3 units *
• JOUR 12 - Mass Media and Society 3 units
• JOUR 14abcd - Digital Media Storytelling 3 units *

Total Units: 21

*Note: one semester each of JOUR 9abcd , JOUR 11abcd , and JOUR 14abcd  may be counted for the certificate.

Note: JOUR 6  is the same course as PHOT 106 . Course credit is limited to JOUR 6  or PHOT 106 .
