The ECC Baccalaureate of Science Degree Program in Respiratory Care is designed to expand preparation and technical expertise of respiratory care practitioners. Program graduates will be trained to serve in leadership and clinical practitioner roles. Students will acquire advanced knowledge and skills in usage of evidence-based medicine in various areas of respiratory care such as personnel management, policy design, and case management of patients in the clinical setting.
Note: This degree has the following requirements: A combination of lower and upper division courses totaling a minimum of 120 semester units that are applicable to a baccalaureate degree. All courses designated as an upper division major requirement must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major.
Requirements for Admission
- AS Degree in Respiratory Care from an Accredited CoARC institution.
- Applications will be accepted each Spring.

Graduation Requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 120 units with a minimum grade of “C” in all courses which include:
- 39 units of CSU-GE transferable units or IGETC with lower division electives
- 40 units are credited to the A.S. Respiratory Care degree courses
- 32 units of upper division respiratory care courses (“Required Respiratory Courses” noted below)
- 9 units of upper division non-respiratory upper division course work (“Required General Education Courses” noted below)
