PHOT 206ab - Advanced Photojournalism 2 1 hour lecture, 3 hours lab Prerequisite: Photography 106 or Journalism 6 with a minimum grade of C in prerequisite or equivalent Credit, degree applicable Transfer CSU
This course provides instruction and laboratory experience in the taking and processing of photographs for publication in the college newspaper, newspaper website and news magazine. Students also receive experience in news, feature and sports photo editing, photo essay page design and layout, as well as digital photography and photo scanning techniques using Lightroom or other industry-standard photo-editing software. Students must also utilize social media, posting and sharing on a variety of current social media platforms. All students enrolled in this course produce content for scholastic competition on the regional, state and national level.
Note: This course may be taken two semesters for either Journalism or Photography credit.
