COMM C1004H - Interpersonal Communication - Honors

This course covers theory, research, and application of ethical one-to-one communication practices in various and diverse interpersonal relationships including in personal, professional, and social situations. This is an honors course.

Students will explore the study of interpersonal communication methods and theories, emphasizing critical analysis of concepts, such as self-concept, perception, emotions, and conflict resolution, within diverse social and cultural contexts. Students will engage with social and behavioral science research methods, examining issues historically and geographically, to understand the cultural and social frameworks that shape human behavior and appreciate the varied contributions of different genders, ethnicities, and societies, fostering a global and comparative perspective. This honors course is enriched through extensive reading, writing, and research assignments.

Note: Students may take either Communication Studies C1004 or Communication Studies C1004H. Duplicate credit will not be awarded.
