ATEC 45 - Automotive Machining

This course covers the study of machining processes used in the automotive engines, and diesel engines used in the automotive and light duty truck industry. Topics include drilling and tapping, milling, surfacing, boring and honing, pin fitting, press work, resurfacing, reaming, knurling, repairing of damaged threads, measuring, grinding valves and valve seats, and crack detection methods and repairing. Laboratory activities stress proper use of equipment utilized in the automotive engines and diesel engines used in the automotive and light duty truck rebuilding industry.
