Certificate of Achievement

A Certificate of Achievement will be granted upon completion of all program requirements. A minimum of 12 units must be completed at El Camino College.

CDEV 110 - Child Health, Safety, and Nutrition 3 units
CDEV 150 - Introduction to Children with Special Needs 3 units

CDEV 165 - Autism, ADHD, Physical and Health Impairments 3 units

The State Department of Social Services will qualify a person as a preschool teacher if the student has at least 12 units in Early Childhood Education. These units must include CDEV 103 , CDEV 104 and one course from CDEV 116 , CDEV 117 , CDEV 118 or CDEV 119 . Preschool directors must complete 9 additional units in Program Administration (CDEV 129 , CDEV 130 , and CDEV 131 ).
