Student Development Office
The Student Development Office serves as the focal point for El Camino College student life and leadership programs. The Student Development Office strives to create a supportive and relaxing environment where students can interact with one another outside of the classroom. The Student Development Office location includes Warrior Pantry, Inter-Club Council, student government offices (Associated Students Organization), Student Equity Advisory Council, and photo ID services. Through the Student Development Office, students may become involved in clubs and organizations, Associated Students Organization (ASO) and Inter-Club Council. Associated Students Organization
The Associated Students Organization (ASO) is the officially recognized student group charged with representing the needs and interests of all El Camino College students. Officers are elected/ appointed each year to provide a voice for ECC students. Everyone who is registered at El Camino College is a member of the Associated Students. ASO sponsors programs and services to benefit the entire student body.
Basic Needs Center
The Basic Needs Center provides vital assistance to students lacking essential means to attend school on a consistent basis. Free and low-cost basic needs services, resources, and support are provided.
Currently, there are four services:
- CalFresh: Nutrition assistance program that helps individuals buy food
- Metro U-Pass: Discounted public transportation program
- Warrior Closet: Provides free clothing
- Warrior Pantry: Offers healthy food items and toiletries

Inter-Club Council
The Inter-Club Council is comprised of representatives from campus clubs and sponsors activities such as homecoming and blood drives. There are a variety of clubs available for students to join, including honorary, service, cultural, performing arts, and special interest organizations. Information on forming a club or joining one is available in the Student Development Office.
Student Equity Advisory Council
The Student Equity Advisory Council (SEAC) is a student-led organization that leads efforts to educate and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion at El Camino College. The council is comprised of equity-related student clubs and all students who have a passion for social justice. For more information on SEAC, please email seac@elcamino.edu.
Student Senate
Each of the college’s academic divisions is represented on the Student Senate by two elected students. The senate is concerned with the total student body and acts as a point of communication between the academic divisions and students. The Student Development Office advises the membership to sponsor such activities as workshops, lectures, and social events. Overall leadership of the senate is provided by the ASO president and the ASO cabinet. The president, vice president, director of finance, director of academic affairs, director of student services, director of public relations, director of human resources, and director of external affairs are elected by the student body each spring.
Student Trustee
A student trustee is elected each spring to represent the students for one year on the Board of Trustees of the El Camino Community College District. The representative participates fully with the Board except in matters of personnel or pending litigation.
