SPAN 1 - Elementary Spanish I

This course introduces students to the development of skills for language acquisition in speaking, listening, reading, and writing linguistically appropriate Spanish. Students are also introduced to the cultural background of the language, including relationships among cultural practices and perspectives and the general aspects of everyday life. Technological support includes video, audio, and Internet access to publishers’ websites for tutoring and other support.

Note: This course is comparable to two years of high school Spanish.

Note: The maximum UC credit allowed for students completing Spanish 1 and SPAN 52A and SPAN 52B is five units. This course is comparable to two years of high school Spanish.
