The ESL Reading and Vocabulary Certificate of Competency provides non-native English speakers the interpretive, critical, and analytical reading skills and vocabulary knowledge necessary for success in college-level courses such as English 1A. Students completing the certificate will be able to discuss and write critically about fictional and nonfictional works.
