Introduction to Child Development and Early Childhood Education

The noncredit Introduction to Child Development and Early Childhood Education Certificate of Completion is designed to assist students transition from noncredit to credit courses, with the goal of providing a basic understanding of concepts from Child Development and Early Childhood Education. Courses will focus on milestones, developmentally appropriate practices, positive adult/child interactions, the effects of context and culture on development, the importance of play, accessing community resources and advocacy. The Certificate of Completion is granted after successful completion of CDEV 500 and CDEV 501. This certificate is intended for students seeking a career in Early Childhood Education and anyone seeking to learn more about Child Development, including parents/caregivers.
